Worshiping with Children

Everyone is Welcome: wiggles, giggles, and all!
Relax! God put the wiggles in your child, don't feel you have to suppress it in God's house. All are welcome! Here are a couple of suggestion that may make worship easier for you and your children.
  • Sit toward the front where it is easier for little ones to see and hear what is going on in the service.
  • Quietly explain the part of the service and actions of the worship leaders.
  • Sing hymns, pray, voice responses, stand up with congregation. Children learn how to participate in worship by watching and copying you.
  • If you have to leave the service with your child, feel free to do so, but please come back. As Jesus said, "Let the children come to me."
  • We have Pleasant Packs, with drawing materials and activities, outside the worship areas. Or feel free to bring something from home. You may be surprised by what your child hears while their hands are busy.

The way we welcome children in church directly affects the way they respond to the Church, to God, and to one another. Let them know that they are at home in this house of worship.
