Church Summer Camp

Summer will be here before we know it. At Pleasant View we love how summer camp grows our younger disciples. We recommend Camp Bays Mountain. There are camp opportunities for kids going into 1st grade all the way through High School. Check out there website, www.campbaysmountain.com for more information and registration. Pleasant View UMC likes to help our families afford summer camp through our Camp Scholarship Fund. Please talk to Katherine about camp scholarships.

Creating Disciples - how we learn and play

Holy moly Sunday School

Picture
The kids have been asking all summer long and it is finally time to begin Holy Moly Sunday School again! We gather at 9:45 every Sunday down the  children's wing. The children will learn about God through fun actives, an engaging mini video, and opening their Bibles. Please come join us and bring and friend!

Worshiping with Children

Everyone is Welcome: wiggles, giggles, and all!
Relax! God put the wiggles in your child, don't feel you have to suppress it in God's house. All are welcome! Here are a couple of suggestion that may make worship easier for you and your children.
  • Sit toward the front where it is easier for little ones to see and hear what is going on in the service.
  • Quietly explain the part of the service and actions of the worship leaders.
  • Sing hymns, pray, voice responses, stand up with congregation. Children learn how to participate in worship by watching and copying you.
  • If you have to leave the service with your child, feel free to do so, but please come back. As Jesus said, "Let the children come to me."
  • We have Pleasant Packs, with drawing materials and activities, outside the worship areas. Or feel free to bring something from home. You may be surprised by what your child hears while their hands are busy.

The way we welcome children in church directly affects the way they respond to the Church, to God, and to one another. Let them know that they are at home in this house of worship.
